Studio seconds are pieces that don’t quite meet my standards for full-price work but are still functional and thoughtfully made. These may include experimental pieces, early work, or items with minor cosmetic imperfections. They’re offered at a reduced price to reflect these differences.

Yes. Unless otherwise specified, all pieces are finished with Tried & True linseed oil and beeswax blend, which is food safe.

The finishes I use are water-resistant, but wood is a natural material and should be kept dry most of the time. Surfaces may get wet briefly as long as they are dried promptly.
If cleaning is needed, hand wash using mild soap and warm water, then dry immediately. Never place wooden pieces in the dishwasher.
To maintain the finish, I recommend conditioning your piece every few months, or whenever the wood begins to look dry or dull. Use any food-grade finishing oil or beeswax blend.
Apply the oil generously over the entire surface, following the direction of the grain. Allow it to soak in for several hours (or overnight), then wipe away any excess with a clean, dry cloth.
